These are some ways in which humans can reduce our carbon footprint regarding pollution. Don't just read this! TAKE ACTION and change your behavior! SAVE OUR PLANET! :
1. Eat low on the food chain: eat mostly fruits, veggies, grains, and beans.
2. Choose organic and local foods: the transport food from far away uses fossil fuels for fuel.
3. Reduce your food waste: plan meals ahead of time and reuse leftovers.
4. Compost your food waste.
5. Do not buy fast fashion: cheap items get dumped in landfills where they produce methane.
6. Wash your clothing in cold water: in cold water, you can save up 500 pounds (227kg) of carbon dioxide each year.
7. Bring your reusable bag when you shop.
8. Avoid items with excess packaging.
9. Support and buy from companies that are environmentally responsible and sustainable.
10. Do an energy audit of your home.
11. Change incandescent light bulbs to LEDs: LEDs use a quarter of the energy and last up to 25 times longer.
12. Switch lights off when you leave and turn off your electronic devices when they are not in use.
13. Turn your water heater down to 120˚F (49˚C): you can save 550 pounds (249kg) of CO2 a year.
